How to Clean and Care for a Glass UTV Windshield
Keep your glass UTV windshield clear and scratch-free: the right way to rinse, wash, remove bugs and mud, and care for wiper blades.
Rinse before you touch it
Most scratches come from dragging dry grit across the surface. Always rinse the windshield with plenty of clean water first to float off dust and sand.
Wash with the right tools
Use a soft microfiber cloth or a clean sponge with mild automotive soap. Avoid abrasive pads, paper towels and harsh solvents. Rinse again and dry with a clean microfiber towel.
Bugs, mud and tree sap
Soak stubborn bugs or mud with warm, soapy water before wiping. Remove sap with a glass-safe cleaner rather than scraping.
Look after your wiper blades
Wipe the blade edge clean and replace worn blades. A cracked or gritty blade can leave marks on any windshield. Use the washer to wet the glass before running the wiper.
Protect it between rides
Park out of direct, prolonged sun when you can, and cover the vehicle in storage so grit does not settle on the glass.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a wiper on a dusty glass windshield?
Wet the glass first with the washer or a rinse. Running a wiper over dry, gritty glass can leave fine scratches.
